Unbiased & Accurate Carpet Cleaner Research: Sources & Methodology

Here at CarpetCleaner101.com we strive to make our content accurate and objective; at no point are our editors influenced by commercial considerations. Our goal is to provide you (our loyal reader) with an honest report of what industry experts and verified consumers are saying.

For each product category, recommendations page and single product we use a variety of data including, but not limited to:

  • Retailer Data – we use a variety of data available via API from retailers including verified consumer reviews & verified consumer feedback as well as looking at the most popular and best selling products. This includes retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Costco and Target.
  • Credible Review Websites – we also use data from established product review websites, usually the opinion of industry experts who specialises in reviewing products within this category. Generally speaking, we weight the data from review websites as average, since it is not always clear as to the editors background and whether or not there were any external influences at play.
  • Forums & Message Boards – we also scour related forums which have hundreds of owners discussing the products they have purchased, this is an excellent source for long term feedback, once the product(s) have been used for several months or years. Most of these forums are hidden from prying eyes and therefore there is very little if any commercial benefit for users to be dishonest, most of the data from forums and message boards is from users who ask questions about a particular product and then receive multiple replies from owners of said product.

We do not take data from the following sources:

  • Testimonials – found on retailer or manufacturer websites
  • Biased review websites with very little authority
  • Reviews from visitors to our website
  • Unverified consumer reviews on retailer or manufacturer websites
